Everyday Rewards Prize notification failure

Everyday Rewards Prize notification failure

I have my doubts in the way that Everyday rewards handles their auto entry competitions.

I have a fairly unique surname and was on a winner's list last year and never received a prize. I called Everyday Rewards to be told that there was another person with the same name in my state and that was that. It was managed within the everyday rewards call centre. I accepted that and moved on.

Fast forward to now....my partner has a very unusual surname (more unusual than mine). He is on the winner list and his initial and state match too. We call everyday rewards (wait the 30 mins to get through) and told that they don't deal with prize delivery and it's all done via Plexus. They simply washed their hands of it.

I call Plexus and it just goes to a voice message.

The T&Cs are below... but I thought Plexus was just the adjoucator and that was it.

"Winner notification:
The winners will be contacted by email (to the email address linked to their Everyday Rewards account) and/or by phone (to the phone number linked to their Everyday Rewards account) within seven (7) days of the draw. The winners will be published at https://everydayrewards.com.au/competitionwinners by 23/11/23.

Unclaimed prizes:
Prizes must be claimed by 17/01/24 at 12:00 pm AEDT. In the event of an unclaimed prize, the prize will be redrawn on 18/01/24 at 12:00 pm AEDT at Plexus, Level 4, 411 Collins Street, Melbourne VIC 3000. The winners of the redraw will be notified by email (to the email address linked to their Everyday Rewards account) and/or by phone (to the phone number linked to their Everyday Rewards account) within seven (7) days of the redraw. The winners will be notified publicly (and their details published) at https://everydayrewards.com.au/competitionwinners by 25/01/24.
"

Anyone else had troubles with Everyday Rewards and claiming prizes/not being contacted? And also not being able to get any contact to help?

I haven't tried to contact Everyday Rewards but when I had an issue with Woolworths I emailed the CEO direct and got the answer I needed.

You have tried dealing with the lower ranks and are getting the run around so I would recommend you next go straight to the top of Everyday Rewards.

The Managing Director of Everyday Rewards is Hannah Ross it appears.

You might try the email protocol of hross@woolworths.com.au to start with and see if that goes through. Otherwise include h.ross@woolworths.com.au simultaneously. One or both might bounce back but it's a starting point.

I ran out of patience with the lower ranks years ago and sometimes just go straight to the top with any complaint. I always use a respectful tone in deference to their position and not wanting to appear to be a whinger. I tell the story from 1 to 10 missing nothing out even if it is an inconvenient fact. Just outline the events from beginning to end. (1 to 10).

A couple years ago I saw my name and state on an Everyday Rewards winner's list to Win a year's worth of groceries.
I waited and waited to be contacted but the contact never came.
I reached out to the Rewards team via that chat thing (very frustrating) and then spoke to actual person which was even more frustrating.
I ended up sending an email to the Everyday Rewards Manager outlining my issues - long story short I never received a reply or response and possibly missed out on $8,000 worth of groceries.
Sometimes it appears the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

I have seen a name matching mine on the Chemist Warehouse list of winners - the Football comp. I have messaged and rung them and no one will confirm wether or not its me. I have tried so many times I have just given up. My name is not common but then it is only christian name and initial. Would just like them to confirm one way or another as I entered this comp but even though they promise to respond I never hear back.

I gave up with a Villa Maria wine comp. My full name and postcode on their list and even received an email. Emailed back and phoned their head office. Nothing!

Find the Permit number for your state at the end of the T&Cs and put a complaint in to the relevant state authority.

Thanks everyone. Definitely some courses of action, but gee, it leaves a bad taste.

I find that it's very hard to get hold of a lot of people these days on the phone.

It's not good. Probably many unclaimed prizes. :(

Issues with Plexus-run promos in past here too after actively looking up winner lists, seeing name published, not notified and had no idea I had won. I remember Plexus being impossible to contact. Huge companies out-sourcing customer promotions to a 'Promotion Wizard'??? WT? Who contacts the EW winners - Woolies or Plexus?

Frustrating for customers after buying items or changing brands specifically to enter & getting the runaround.

Noticed there's an unusual amount of secondary Redraw Winners in a lot of Everyday Rewards/Woolies comps, even accounting for the fact a lot of winners wouldn't know they had auto-entered after scanning EW card.

What happens to the prizes if the secondary winners also don't receive a WEM or WPC and have no idea they've won?

Hope you get some answers Donkey12.

Sounds like time for someone to contact ACA for a follow up story. They can usually get results when all else fails. Imagine if they put a call out fo ANONE affected! They may be swamped.

ALSO I think there should be a push to add postcode and purchase store to the winner details. It would help a lot to know if it is you. OR ERC number! too easy

Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000

The harder you work the luckier you get

I had to get in touch with the Rewards team regarding a comp a few years back. I messaged them through their Facebook messenger page and the relevant person got back to me straight away if I remember correctly. So perhaps try DM then that way??

Good ideas gr82do

T&C legally-required winner publication/notification/follow-up and fulfilment in Australia needs a total overhaul, where at the very least;

- Initial or first name, surname, postcode, State/Territory published.

- Published in the right place, no later than the advertised date/time.

- Available for public view for six months after draw.

- Include link to ALL runner-up prize winners sorted alphabetically by
State/Territory then surname, even if there are thousands of runner up
prizes.

- The number of major/runner-up/redraw prizes offered and the actual
number of bona-fide prize winner names published is equal.

Lack of transparency & accountability with prizes and winner list publication is a real issue, with several large, repeat-offender companies immediately coming to mind.

In another recent comp, good to see that some Lottoers immediately noticed the number of prize winner names published were vastly less than the number of actual prizes advertised in a 'scan loyalty at checkout' comp.

There are a few companies that consistently run comps very professionally, it's a shame there aren't more of them.

With so many 'dodgy' comps these days making it so hard to win anything (winning moments and chance to win a big prize), what we don't need is all this hassle just to get our prize.
I'm becoming disillusioned with comping these days.

I never did get a positive result. The Foreign obscure surname was apparently common enough to be another winner, but I'm so sceptical.

Yes I have been waiting for a Peleton I won in a Swisse competition! Anyone else a winner there?

I never got my Cadbury cushion, not so worried about it, was more curious to which one out of three I had won!

Do not trust these Woolies comps now.

These comps are so dodgy. Take for example the latest Woolworths Home Essentials Competition. There were 500 $200 Woolworths egift cards to be won. The winners list is up now, and the terms state the egift cards will be sent to the winners email address within 30 days. Any prizes unclaimed will be redrawn on 30/5.

So how many of the 500 winners will actually see the winning email with the gift card attached? How many of these emails will go to spam, and how many will be ignored thinking its a scam, as most of these people probably never enter competitions, and lets face it, who hasn't had a scam email saying YOUVE WON A GIFT CARD! I reckon less than 50% of those emails will be found and the gift cards used. And then they say prizes must be claimed by 30/5, how do they know who has seen the email and who hasn't. I'd like to hear from someone who has won a Woolworths ERC prize, I bet there's no phone call or follow up email.

About two years ago I had a $500 gift card with the full balance remaining. It still had about 3 months before it expired as I was saving up for a gift for someone and was going to use this card as part payment. When I went to use it, there was zero balance remaining. I sent numerous emails to the gift card company, made dozens of phone calls and got pushed around from pillar to post. Eventually the expiry date had actually been and gone so I decided to go to the VERY TOP. I found out the name of the CEO of the company in America and emailed her. All of a sudden all hell broke loose as I had documented all the phone calls and saved all the emails ... read and unread ... and forwarded them to her. She contacted the appropriate person from Australia and told her to fix it straight away. I received a phone call from her with a sincere apology and she told me that I had contacted someone way above her pay grade (no kidding! hahaha) and that, if I liked, she could send me a digital card that very day or I could wait for a physical card which would take a couple of weeks. I chose the digital card and spent it straight away. She was given strict instructions from the CEO to copy her in on all the action that was being taken. I think the people I had contacted in the first place thought I'd give up. They were wrong! As a result of this fiasco, the company was told to do a complete overhaul of the system as obviously it had failed so some good came out of it.

Fantastic outcome Merivale, good going!!!!!! :)

There are a lot of middle-people & hired promo/digitaldraw companies that are the weakest link - seems lately that the most trustworthy comps are run strictly in-house by the product/company marketing dept, not outsourced...
