How much did you win in 2023?

The end of 2023 is almost here. It's now time to start adding up our wins for 2023.

Feel free to stay Anonymous and just click on the amount you've won, or you can add a message if you wish.

IMPORTANT - There's still plenty of time left to win this year (especially with so many Advent comps running) so there is no need to do the poll yet.
Hopefully there'll be a big win in the next few weeks for some of us.

Certainly, if you feel that you won't win enough to make it into the next bracket, then by all means click your total. Otherwise, wait until closer to the end of the year, or even the beginning of next year.
Note, once you make a choice, you can't go back later and change it.

If you haven't done so already, don't forget to add your wins to the Lottos Winners Circle thread, so your total can be included in the Lottos Grand Total for the year.
You don't have to specify exactly which comp/s you've won, just general prizes and dollar amounts is fine.
There's a new thread every couple of days, or so, and the weekend. Here's the link for the current Winners Circle:
https://www.lottos.com.au/competitions/viewthreadlite.php?ti...

(Currently, the total Lottos wins to date is $589,545. Last year we managed to finish over $1m. We've got a long way to go to catch up this year.)

Good luck everyone!

I'll put the previous Years' Results and links to previous years in the next post so as not to clutter this one.

A great start to the poll and a few big winners already. Congrats!

I will wait a couple of days to post on the form but this is my lowest total in 15years, part due to the changing nature of comping (so many on social media), part due to lack of big prizes and proliferation of tiny ones, partly because I have less desire to acquire stuff these days when the family doesn't need much and part due to no really big win this year. Well done you big winners. Merry Christmas all.

Prize wins 2014: $37680
Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000

The harder you work the luckier you get

I hear you. As I'm getting older, I'm also entering less for similar reasons as you.
I'm sitting on just over $6k and I'm holding off just in case I get a big win in the next week. Haha! Haven't won anything this month and my biggest win for the year has been a $1k voucher. Thinking positively for the rest of the year.

Yep. We need seniors comps. Cruises. Grocery vouchers. Gift cards. Books. (I win plenty of books!)

Definitely! Seniors' methods of entering too (no tiktok, fast action "games", requirements to follow on ALL the socials, tagging THREE friends), and cash prizes to be in a form which can be added to bank accounts, on gift cards, or to be printed out for easy use.

I'm sick of being in a state of permanent crankiness over my favourite hobby!

I'm in exactly the same boat as you and Pirate. Not bothering with things I don't want or can't give to family or friends and I absolutely LOATHE instagram, facebook, etc. competitions ... don't ever bother entering them. I don't even like entering things on my iphone. So many useless prizes or "non existent" prizes now ... like "winning moments" and I don't like digital vouchers. I have so much trouble getting them to work.

I'll give this poll a bump as I won't be here much over the Christmas period.
Merry Christmas everyone. Hope everyone finishes with a winning year!

I have added mine. I am sitting on around $28,000 which is the most I have won since 2014. It's a hard slog but sometimes it pays off.

We are going off in a tangent with this thread, but I can so relate that I'm really tempted now to tag those comps that appeal to us older members with the tag #seniors
It's going to be hard to find them though, as even the ones with prizes we'd like tend to have entry methods we don't like.

I'm with you Smiley, I don't like social media or the latest craze of instant wins that are almost impossible to win.
I also dislike Digital prizes, don't have a fancy phone. Sorry showing my age.

I've copied this from the initial post but put it here as a reminder.

If you haven't done so already, don't forget to add your wins to the Lottos Winners Circle thread, so your total can be included in the Lottos Grand Total for the year.
You don't have to specify exactly which comp/s you've won, just general prizes and dollar amounts is fine.

How depressing! This is my worst comping year in 25 years of keeping records.

It is only the second year in 25 years that I have received under $1,000 worth of prizes.

Comping definitely has changed over that time and not for the better.

Can we have a zero, zilch, nothing, not a thing section on the poll, haha only joking but seriously this is the worst year I have had since joining over 10 years ago. I did work pretty hard but not one win, nothing.
:(

Thanks for all the responses, we have over 100 now.
Sorry that despite all efforts some people have won either nothing or very little. Personally, I'm happy that I sit around the median each year, although I'd love a big win.
Our median this year (so far) is sitting at the lower end of the $5k - $10k.

Just to let you all know, even though the month ends in 2 days, I will keep the poll running for a week or so into January to give everyone a chance to tally up their wins for the year.

Just clicked on my total for the poll. Finally decided that big win isn't coming in 2024.
Ended up with a little over $6k. Aside from 2020 which was a low year for everyone, this has been my worst year since 2008!

Another very lean year, so lean that I haven't kept my usual diary records of wins. Just over $1000, and it would have been very dismal if not for the Ferrero Rocher Smeg appliances. While searching my emails to discover a total I actually found a $50 digital card win I'd put in the too-hard basket and forgotten about...fortunately my daughter is visiting and set up the required app on my phone.
This year's receipt box is just as full as previous years, but it hasn't created the usual magic.
