The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries in the event of non-compliance with these Conditions of Entry. In the event that there is a dispute concerning the conduct of the Promotion or claiming a prize, the Promoter will resolve the dispute in direct consultation with the entrant. If the dispute cannot be resolved the Promoter’s decision will be final.
The Promoter and its associated agencies and companies will not be liable for any loss (including, without limitation, indirect, special or consequential loss or loss of profits), expense, damage, personal injury or death which is suffered or sustained (whether or not arising from any person's negligence or wilful misconduct) in connection with this Promotion or accepting or using any prize (or recommendation), except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law (in which case that liability is limited to the minimum allowable by law).
The entrant will participate in and co-operate as required with all reasonable marketing and editorial activities relating to the Promotion, including (but not limited to) being recorded, photographed, filmed or interviewed and acknowledges that the Promoter may use any such marketing and editorial material without further reference or compensation to them.
The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications and the entrant must seek their own independent financial advice in regards to the tax implications relating to the prize or acceptance of the prize.
Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of these rights.
Unless otherwise specified, a prize is a single event for the winner (and their guest) and cannot be separated into separate events.

"Up to AUD$86,028.00 each prize depending on the exact point of departure"

$86k...!!!...for 2 people flying economy with 3 nights in Paris, $2,500 vouchers and tickets to 3 Olympic events (Opening plus 2).

I'd really like to see the cost breakdown for this.

Thanks for posting compgaga.

Agreed too Happy_Jack

So.... the people buying a particular product especially to enter are actually competing with customers who bought the product anyway, not knowing there was a prize to be won. Doesn't make sense from a marketing point of view, or a customer point of view.

I can't fathom why comps are ever a random lucky dip from a gazillion entries from loyalty members etc, with likely winners people who didn't know they entered, may not be able to afford to travel or may not be contactable.

A manual online entry with upload of valid receipt post-purchase would make much more sense.

Maybe the companies think the likelihood of having to come through with the prize is much smaller if it is won by someone who didn't actually try to enter. Maybe they're elderly, not in the best of health, have young kids they cannot leave, a job they cannot get time off from on relatively short notice. The prize of course is usually not transferable. Maybe they just send an email that gets ignored as junk, announce the person as the winner and then move on. So many companies don't seem to bother with he second chance draw or publishing the winner for that matter.

Exactly right. These automatic entry comps by WW really annoy me. They'd be ok for small prizes or cash/voucher prizes but a prize like this really needs people to choose to enter.
I often use the example of my 91yo mother. She'll buy softdrink to have in the house for when my family pops over, totally unaware that she's entered a comp to win a trip to the Paris Olympics. There is no way she can go and the prize is non-transferable so she can't even gift it to us.
