Nightmare Before Christmas Brought to You by Instagram
With all the Christmas comps about to start with gusto, I like everyone else that comps on the planet am struggling with bans on Instagram. This is
despite hardly entering, entering only for select items and at most tagging two people per comp. You would think once they check out your profile and
realise you are legit they would ease off a bit but nah.
Has anyone come up with a strategy plan before the Christmas comps come up thick and fast and we are all locked out of them? I can't see how I am
going over the tagging quota's as I am sure I am way under so I don't know how they are even working out their alithiograms anymore. I am at a
complete loss. |

It’s ridiculous, I got put on pause ( not naughty jail) for trying to unfollow accounts. Got up to about 10 then couldn’t use instagram at all until
24 hours later. |

My strategy will be not entering most. The effort just isn’t worth it given I’ve only ever won 1 or 2 comps on Insta the entire time I’ve had the
account. |

I got suspended yesterday too. As soon as I clarified my email address and phone numbers it unblocked me. 
There are people I can't tag at all - as soon as I type their name it blocks me.
I used to like instagram so much more before it started with all these bans.

I got suspended yesterday too. I'd been driving etc all day, got on last night
and tagged one person and boom, banned till the 18th. |

With the plethora of Christmas Comps about to hit in the next few weeks I can see a lot of us watching from the sidelines. I have noticed though a few
of the companies starting to put a link to a form instead of just tagging to enter. I hope this is what is to come in the future |

I had so much FOMO last year because I was blocked the entire time, and while other people struggled too, some just went hell for leather. There
doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason to insta rules and I hate unfair. Oh, and as I write this... I'm currently blocked |

I have so far only one person that I can't tag, no ban but the comment is removed, I've also noticed using the word love in a comment gets it removed.
I don't enter many and only tag 3-5 friends, of late there have been nights where the only comps available that day are all Instagram.
I've had (fingers crossed) no problems sharing a page though I do dislike all the reels popping up.
Meta doesn't even appear to be consistent with their bans or blocks, one person can tag dozens of people another is blocked doing just one.

Banned here too - but at least now I can pick the time before I am about to be banned - my cursor spins briefly in a circle. I was hoping that was the
ban -1 and I could stop but it was the ban moment.

The other strategy that perhaps those that are banned temporarily is to share to your story and tag the company and the people you are tagging in the
story - that way they will see it. Not sure it will work though

I have been suspended multiple times. I don't share to my story and only tag about four people in total for two to four comps a day. I don't enter a
lot yet I'm still suspended. I go through the ID check and they pass me straight away but I can't tag anyone for days after they've told me I'm
unsuspended. I'm on day 3 currently |

The less you use your account the more you will be blocked.
Consistency is the key. More daily activity, more tags, more time between blocks.
Come on once a week and you will definitely get a ban.
I notice a lot of people, usually lotto members, come on and enter so many instagram comps on Sundays, either for the comps that close on that Sunday
night or entering the comps for the week. This will definitely getcan account banned, your account needs using daily.
I also know each Christmas period so many complaining of blocks but also so many of these users are not consistently using their accounts regularly on
a daily basis throughout the year. ie. not entering daily but expect to be able to enter daily at Christmas. It won't happen- you've not extended
your ban/block times.
Consistency increases your algorithm.
I can tag at least 30 people in various comps a day, I usually get a block once a week for 2 days so I make sure the comps I'm entering are the ones I
like the prize the most. I'm not putting 30 entries in for a candle or lipstick or a $50 meal out! |

What I don't understand is that while reading through this thread, I seem to Instagram comp similar to several other here, yet they get banned
regularly and I never have.
Could it be because, as humdinger has suggested, I enter a few almost daily? I have a handful of people I tag 2-4 times in a day.
One thing I have noticed is that a couple of people on my tag list have created several accounts, probably due to bans, ie. Get banned on one account,
start using another. Not sure if it's allowed on Instagram, but I've seen it done. |

No limit to the number of accounts on instagram
Just don't enter the same comp with multiple accounts, definitely cheating. |

Multiple accounts screams cheating to me (even if it's 'within' the rules)...my old account was deleted before I started using the current one.
Just because you can doesn't mean you should... |

Don't get me started, I love instagram and I am on it daily. I have tried to understand why I am always getting banned, though doesn't make sense.
For about 2 weeks not banned, then I think from Thursday or FRiday banned, then suspended. Then prove my identity, then unblocked for about ten
minutes, then blocked again to the 18th which means the 19th Last
Christmas I was blocked so many times, though the year before I had a ripper of a run.
My daughters tease me because I tease them about always being on their phones and now that's me with instagram

I'm not suggesting that they enter the same comp with multiple accounts. Just that when they get banned or suspended on one account, they can use one
of the other accounts.

I do all that. I enter a few comps every morning as it is my routine. I am consistent and only tag two people unless I am asked to tag more by the
comp. I select the few comps I enter as lots of things are related to the capital cities or babies or stuff I am not interested in. I also avoid
liking new companies unless I really covet the prize as I have "overliked" in years gone by and it was a pain going through and "unliking" them. In
the morning I basically just go through this lottos feed and if I have time to log on in the afternoon I might sometimes go through my instagram feed
and pick a couple of comps up from there but not a huge amount. I can't think of anything else I could be doing to avoid the situation which is
slightly annoying at the moment but come time for the Christmas comps in a week or two it is going to be so frustrating not being able to enter
anything. |

I am a very frustrated Instaqgram user too. Being older didnt and still dont understand how it works. (even though I have now done extensive
reading) I let my likes get up to over 7000 I think it was. That seems to be the number that draws their attention, I didnt realise that you should
unfollow as you go. However thats a problem too because the unliking counts. I have a group of about 12 that I have permission to tag. One of them
I suspect draws their attention and if I tag that one I get banned. I have been banned so many times, try to stick to their rules which are hard to
work out. They say that by tagging in a comp you are responsible somehow for spamming even though they allow posts to ask for tags.
I have read up so much cant come up with any real clues as to how to operate without bans. I now do only a few actions at a time remembing that
tagging and unfollowing are all actions they count. I now post photos and try to interact with the site more, refrain from using the computer or
laptop and only the smartphone (I read somewhere they dont like changes of devices used) do a few unfollows at a time to get the number down.
Have no idea how I will navigate the Christmas comps as I have spent the last few months banned most of the time. I also have not been able to find
whether there is anywhere you can appeal the bans. So impersonal you dont seem to be able to explain your situation or get any clarification. If you
knew what you shouldnt do then you have some chance of complying with their community safety rules or whatever term they give it.
