Your Life Support Thread

A few members have asked for a support thread, wether it be support to stop smoking, dieting, anything that occurs in everyday life events. You can ask for support for it here.

I am giving up smoking, originally it was to be Tuesday, the 16th of May but I am down to just 9 smokes left in my packet so will be tommorrow for sure (mothers day) as I am not going to buy another pack,

I am so determined to do this for my kids sake, as well as of course my own, and would appreciate any support that I can get from my lotto friends.

I need support in not buying any more sunnyboy cordial, my reason being my family goes through 1x 2litre cordial every 6mths and I now have enough cordial for several years, I can't even give it to my sons cub group as the leader lets them have diet cordial only.

oohh comping addiction support, thats one we didnt think of wp,
Ok 44 I could make the usual suggestions, like give them to a charity org,
however as this is a support thread, I will support you in encouraging you not to buy anymore cordial.
dont do it, dont do it.. good luck with it, avoid the cordial aisle, Thats what I do, when I dont want to buy something, avoid, avoid avoid, the other idea is to change supermarket where you cant find anything, you get so frustrated that you end up leaving without half of what you wanted..

LOL... or you could 'concentrate' on another comp, remember as long as there is one entry in, you're in with a chance ;)

Thanks Sherro... lol, havent even found the packets for that comp yet. Thank gawd!! I sure found them for all the others tho... hence, the problem!

If there's enough support to go round I could really use a little right now.:P
I've had a little accident the other night where I've recieved 2nd degree burns to a large area of my upper leg. As it has blistered rather badly I'm finding it difficult to function normally. I'm recieving daily treatment at my local doctor of silver oxcide to reduce risk of infection.
Can't help feeling so stupid and clumsy!:(
It just seems to be one thing after another (most of which is out of my control) for so looooooong now it's really stressful and I somehow want to break this cycle before it breaks me!

dreamsfree, about six months ago I had the frying pan red hot for a steak. There was still some fat in it as I put the steak in.
It splashed up onto the inside of my forearm, bit on the face and some on upper body. Summer, so not wearing much.
The inner (really delicate) left arm, and I'm left-handed as well, the layers of skin just curled like crispy skin chicken.
I nursed myself and it was totally painful and yucky.
I use fish oil caps to repair skin damage.
I have no burn scars, except for a flat discoloured patch on the inner arm.
I'm not suggesting anyone with the second degree burns I had, do the same. In hindsight, I probably should have gone to the doctor, but I'm quite the 'natural therapy' type.

I 'cured' my partner's leg ulcers with a daily application of one fish oil capsule, pierced, to release the oil. Within 5-7 days they were GONE.

And you're right, it is depressing when you hurt yourself. All sorts of inadequacies surface. I hate being 'not' able to function as usual. So frustrating.

Three cheers for all the members for trying a healthier lifestyle. :P:P:P:P

Goodluck to everyone today.

Myseera I have a really good document I can email you if you like. It's called something to the effect of How Santa Claus Made Me Quit Smoking. It's a great read and may give you some more inspiration. Send me a U2U if you would like it.

Another great way to try and stick to your diet is to stick the most recent picture of how you look at the momment on the fridge, that might deter you from opening it to snack on foods throught theday.

Wishing everyone lots of luck for those who are on a diet.
