Perhaps we now need a list of all these scamming numbers?

I deleted mine before I wrote it down ages ago.
I dont think I posted it, but I know it was the same as one on the list except for the last two digits. |

0395405101 same as nelkes..got all excited with this missed call on 7.1.06,phoned back & a recorded message telling me to ring a 1900 &
guarantee of at least a $40- prize for me. Didn't phone it ! They called at 7.57am and only let it ring twice...don't think they want to get you...

SAME HERE AT 2200 , WITH 0395405101.
IF THEY KEPT CALLING YOU IS THERE A WAY TO GET THRU TO THEM TO CANCEL IT. WHICH COMP MAY HAVE GOT OUR NUMBER ON ON-SOLD IT; OR IS IT A RANDOM MOBILE
NUMBER GENERATION THAT THEY USE ?

I've just found 2 of these scam numbers on my mobile missed calls and I never enter my mobile phone for competitions (for the reason that I never
answer my mobile) so I would think they are just number generation? |

Another phone call you don't need to return ....
I don't know if this number has been listed as a no-return call but I'd have to call it devious.
Anyway I had a super quick ring (2 rings only) on my mobile this morning from
0385581441
only to ring it to find out that it was a Winner's Hotline ( and yes I did think 'scam') and then it listed a 1900
number to call, at which point I hung up, thinking, I've wasted a couple of dollars but probably way less than some others.

OUT OF AREA - tonight 3 calls, within about 1/2 an hour, first said hello to just silence, 2nd time I pick up phone & said nothing, they hung up,
3rd time I let it ring out. Seems like could be some selling mob or scam, anyone else have same thing too?? |

WARNING ON THIS
Well, since the previous post in here have had several more Out of Area calls, no answer, etc., finally phone rings again this aft. & in office no
phone showing the Out of Area.
So I just pick it up a foreign accented woman says, "Hello, my name is Rachel, & my phone number has "been selected" to receive a FREE mobile
phone." I says, "I already have one, so I probably don't need one, but if is is for free you can just send it out" she says, "we can post it out to
you for free, I says, (smelling a rat!!) "How Much will it cost me for the year??", THEN she tells me it is on a Plan & will cost me $39.95pm, I says,
"well I probably don't need it then".
So, looks like just a racket to say " your phone no. has been selected, etc" to get you to fall for buying their MOB on a plan, no doubt probably
ringing from overseas too, be warned. |

Here's another scam number that we received on the mobile phone last night- it was a missed call that we called back thinking it was a relative
interstate and it had a recorded message.

Just received a call from 03 9540 5189 (which is already on the list) & it barely got a
single ring before stopping.
Guess they're doing the rounds again/still.
Edit: BTW this is on a new mobile number so they are getting the numbers from some comp run in the last month. I only go this number
on the 19th of Feb!!!
Second Edit: Just realised that my old number is redirected to the new number so it may be that they dialled my old number... does
anyone know how I can check? |
