I just had a missed call from the most bizarre number, 0852007020609. My phone says the call is from Australia. Can anyone shed any light? |

The first and last bits look like Unicode. The first maybe an Asian character and the last not sure.
0852 could be Hong Kong

Lol no idea why there was code but I just edited it. In my missed call text the number is 61852007020609 so an Australian prefix. |

This number calls me daily, sometimes multiple times - 02 6064 2199
I've blocked it, but it doesn't mean it's stopped the annoyance. Now, instead of getting calls, I get text messages telling me I have a missed call
from this number!!!
Can someone tell me how to block the text messages too? I don't understand how this is happening when I blocked this number. |

I know who it is, I just can't stop the 'missed call' messages. I've blocked the number so I don't get the calls but I still get a missed call
message. It's just as annoying because the phone still pings and I still have to check the message. |

On my phone I tap the text to open it, then in the top right hand corner there are 3 dots - tapping that gives me options, one of which says 'People
& options'. When I tap that I then get a further option & this is to block.

Maybe when you block the number it's not blocking them from calling you, it just stops the call from ringing on your phone. That's why you're still
getting the missed call text.
Could you call Wyndham and have them remove your details Smiley? |

Smiley my phone is a Nokia 8 ..... so android, and when I do these steps on the missed call text the pop up says I'll no longer receive 'calls or
texts' from this number if I block it. It seems to have the knock on effect of not receiving the missed call text (as I suppose that's from a
different service?).
It's not blocking the service itself though as I still get missed called texts when I miss my family calls.
The scam calls had been driving me crazy - 6 to 8 of them a day, then all the texts but it's slowly dwindling by doing this, now only 1-2 a day  . |

Just got to bite the bullet, answer and tell them to STOP. Or tell them that you're living in the USA and ask why they're calling you in the middle
of the night and to cease and desist immediately, or some other massive white lie. 
If they don't stop immediately contact the ACMA. |

I'll try Tooda's suggestion first and make sure it's not blocking all my missed calls.
Otherwise I'll have to try abracadabra96's suggestion. But then I have to work out how to unblock their calls. It's neverending. |

02 6181 1505 - from Canberra
I got a phone call from the above number at 2:22pm.
A person who could hardly speak English said:
Her: You have entered a competition online to win cash. We would like to offer you the chance to enter a competition to win a car.
Me: I’m sorry. What competition did I enter on line?
Her: You entered a competition to win $15,000 cash.
Me: I’m a competition expert. And I know I definitely never entered a competition online to win $15,000 cash. In fact, I can tell you there has never
been a comp online to enter that has the number $15,000 as a cash prize.
....long pause....
Me: You don’t know what to say now. There’s no reply to that in your script is there?
Her: um..no.
Me: So is this the point where I hang up?
Her: Yeah
Me: Okay. Bye-bye |
