dreamsfree I posted somewhere a few days ago about this , had need to call my carrier on another matter & also mentioned this as I had them on 3
of my comping only phones , he said there are a lot of dubious marketing companies out there that handle comp calls in particular but was not allowed
to say which 1 , was to ring him back late Friday to find out how he went in trying to trace the origin of the call , It was slightly different in
that it was a sleasy type message & cost $4.75 to me for them to send but did not know this till the 2nd one .I ignored the 1st then got another ,
tried to use my mobile to contact customer care only to find all my credit had been used with these too , so called on the home ph then when I went to
retrieve the No to give him both messages had dissapeared , that was a little scarey , like they knew I was attempting to report it .Must ring
tomorrow & get to the bottom of it , was going to cost me another $4.75 to stop it .

Hah, I did get a call from 02 8404 2215. It rang half a time and then hung up.
Finally checked up on it and got that same over-excited dude telling me I'd won something worth at LEAST $40. And I could call the Winner's Hotline
for ONLY $2.75 a minute. ONLY! Charge me to find out what I'VE WON.
Needless to say, didn't reply. But good to find this thread, admit I was curious to know what the prize might be.

Only rang quick so would say it's a scam number. Not going to ring it back. Also this was my old mobile which I hardly enter any comps on.

Hubby and mine's mobile phones rang at the exact same time, only half a ring once on each, from 0284042215. Neither of us called back. Then a few days
later the exact same thing happened. Couldn't see how both phones could ring in sync at the same time from the same number and for only half a ring
each unless it was some sort of scam. I think someone else mentioned they had received a call from this number too.
Thanks to whoever thought of starting this thread. Sometimes it is easy to let excitement of a possible win override caution. So far I have been able
to match 4 missed call numbers to numbers on these lists. It has saved me time but more importantly $$$ (which I can spend on ligitimate comps).

Just had 02 8404 2296 ring for like the 4th time this week - they are persistant, aren't they? My comp number isn't even given out
to anyone!!!

Oh no!! Both me and my hubbie got called once on our phones this morning and at 6am Perth time!!!!!!
HATE THEM!!
It's not like I dont get enough sleep as it is with a cranky 3 y/o and wriggling jnr in my stomach! Grrrrrrrrrr. |

O/T Scam number list
I know there is the official scam number list, but received this email today, and was shocked at cost of calls, is it accurate?
if you get a missed call from one of the following numbers, don't call it back.
if you do, you will be charged $50 as it is an internet number...it says you have won $40 and to call another number....then you will get slapped
with another $50 amount.
It’s been doing the rounds in canberra….i received the prank this morning!

Here's another , i got 1 on my mobile the other day. They don't give you a chance to answer the call so you have to call back, i never did.

I too was initiated into the world of prank calls while away on holidays.... thankfully I don't normally return missed calls on my mobile!!!! Just
checked the number and it was on the list....
