I've just received an SMS from the same number, Mona Lisa.
Although I've entered the Australian Idol contest I definately didn't sign up for weekly clues.
I've found this number listed on a website as a possible solicitor (of spam).

I'm wondering how much they charged for the call and how they got my number.
Anyone else getting calls from them? |

I called Telstra and they have blocked the number and will reverse any charge.
We did not sign up for anything and am concerned that this is allowed to happen so easily without my consent. |

I just got a SPAM subscription SMS from 1973 3733.
Does anyone where this has been generated from?
Its does not include text in the message to OPT out, although I did send a STOP message, which generated a further message to say that I have been
unsubscribed.
I have read somewhere on other posts that they must include and OPT OUT option in the SMS.
Can someone please advise who I can contact to lodge a complaint.
I never enter anything that remotely suggests a subscription service.
Also received some Free Fusion sms advising of sales. Am pretty sure that received one, sent the opt out message and then received another one from a
diifferent number. |

Watch out for 08 6210 2310 checked up & it is Telstra trying to drum up business & pester everyone, they ring & ring.
Plus 02 8114 3800 which is Optus trying to get you off pre-paid onto plans.
tarzwal, you can ring the Telecommunications Ombudsman, I think they can sort it out for you, in phone book somewhere, or do a search? |

I keep getting missed calls from 0293338100 - who calls me says it is cellarmasters wine club. They don't leave messages. I rang back and it was a
wine club.

got a missed call and message on my phone at 1.43am!!
from 07 3263 8378 - believe it must be a scam number, no legit company would be calling at that hour.
I will not be calling them back to find out.
Thank god I had my phone on silent - would not have been impressed if it had woken the baby |

Scam numbers
If you want a neat little trick. Often they will ask if you and your partner is between 20 and 60.
Tell them you're 61 and your partner is 19.
They close the call verrrry quickly  |

reply to, to claim my fortune.

My partner received two different sms messages about the Apple comp which is a scam. It looks to be a subscription service so check your charges. |

I have received two so far in the last week. The first one I deleted after googling and the second one I have not removed as yet. The second number
was + 13473317723 at 6.53am on a Saturday morning. They should not try and scam a comper so early lol!
Quoting the message

Edit: I am on prepaid and checked my balance yesterday and today and it seems I have not been charged anything Possibly once you are on the site they may ask for credit card details. I wasn't going to go there though  |
