I have only been comping for a couple of months but my family love it - they have been scoring all the products I buy but don't use.
My parents have dogs.
My sister has a cat and young kids
My brother eats whatever I give him.
My toiletries supply cupboard is overflowing with toilet paper, tampons, shower gel and deodorant. I'll get through them.....eventualllllllllllllllllllllly.

It is a good opportunity to try products that I wouldn't normally use - I suppose that is the intention of the company running the comp.
:)

must have a lot of ****holes in my family- thought I had enough Sorbent toilet paper to last to the end of the year- but am running low already- so off to Woolies in the morning!
When I open my freezer door all I see is pink!- there must be at least 20 loaves in there! :P:P:P - I know that will last for a while- only use two pieces a day for miss 10's school lunches!
have more marinade in my pantry than I have used in the last 25 years! so will add marinade to the "bucket list"! :P:P:P:P
with several Cussons comps running at once- I will never ever need to buy hand or body wash again!

I can honestly say never have. Don't have money to throw around I'm afraid. Been tempted though.. ;) Maybe that's why I don't win anything much. You have to have money to make money as the old saying goes.. :D

Let's just say that the Giving Tree this Christmas outside
K-Mart was full of Disney DVDs thanks to Competitions. Win Win situation really.

Mine and Hubbys family love the kickbacks as do my three adult Kids. My Son-in-Laws are always smelling their best thanks to the Lynx Competitions.

Grandkids love all the yummy competitions (LCMs, M&Ms, biscuits, softdrinks - the list is endless).

Let's just say everyone is on my case about what Competitions (food, beverage, alcohol etc etc) is coming up.

I have them pretty well trained as well. They buy Competition stuff, hand over their receipts and barcodes quick as a flash. Works both ways.

I also have the best stocked cupboards you could imagine. It actually saves me money in the long run.

Supermarkets could shut down for a month and we'd still be going strong in my house.

Only complaint from family is Mum won't buy stuff if there is no competition for it.

M&Ms on Toast for tea anyone!!! LOL

I bought green tea too Kaspa, gave it away. But I did recently get a call to say I had won a DSi so it was worth it:D

Loved Gypsy's post here:

[bought] 3 Finsh Rinse Aid , no dishwasher
Lots of Weight Watchers stuff , I weigh 45 Kg at the best of times
I pack of Beneful Dog Food no dog , will go in the bin for the local Animal Refuge
Several packs of each Splenda Hermistas and don't use sugar at all OOh & several types of sugars , coffee -non drinker , at least I have it for visitors . Batteries galore , But I do wait till they are on special & normally limit it to 1 or 2 entries .

---------------------------------

I bought SOLO recently just to enter the comp and then poured it down the drain. I hate soda pop!

But resisted buying the iced coffee Icebreak just to enter the comp because I didn't think the prize of a tv was worth it i.e. monetary value of prize is too low to justify me buying a product I won't use.

For me to buy a product I don't even use it would have to be a very large prize - as a general rule I absolutely will not buy a product I don't use just to enter a comp when I know the prospects of winning are remote.

I laughed when I read catrin and frizzy63's comments above ... I've been using my Glad Zip-up bags to store my
M & Ms!!! Too many of both so I've had to hide them at the back of cupboards. Just hope it's worth it in the long run.

Many years ago (in the "Good Old Days" when you had to actually SEND off the wrappers) I bought dozens and dozens of Mars bars. I don't eat them ... so gave them away to neighbours, etc. ... minus, of course, the wrappers.

What did I win? Hundreds and hundreds MORE Mars bars. I was sending them in with my husband to work and giving more away to my neighbours. In the end, everyone was so sick of the sight of them that they almost begged me not to give them any more!

It was many years before I could face another Mars bar I can tell you!

I am constantly buying things I dont need, but my local charity loves me. If its something my family or friends dont need, then I give it away. I rock up to them in my 4WD truck, open the lid and just give them bags and bags of food, soap, anything and everything. They now know who I am, and at first, thought I was from a business, donating goods..
hahha... It feels good...

For me the question really should be "Have you ever bought anything you don't need just for a comp AND THEN FORGOTTEN TO ENTER???"

The Jodi Picoult book is still sitting on my desk...

For sure! I've got sensitive skin and I bought some Nivea cleansing wipes. They made my skin break out and even my daughter ended up with dry skin. Now, I have to find something around the house to try and use them on. Maybe the dogs bed? But I don't think I can be that cruel to him.
