Between us Maccinote & I bought a dozen lots of Lucky Dog food , had it boxed ready to go to the local animal shelter when I got a WPC for $1,000
then I only
bought 2 boxes of Omo just to enter because we have more than a years supply statched already, got a WEM for the Camping Package which turned up
yesterday.
The coke comp last year where Maccinote scored the $10,000, we had the back room & linen press full of coke. Was also the Solo comp at the same
time & we each won twice from that. All was sold to neighbours & at the garage sale before the big move to QLD.
We love the tuna & noodle comps, the 2 go together for a great snack when busy comping & both did well with noodle comps the past few months
though nothing from the tuna.
The Glad sandwich bags are terrific for keeping receipts in & can be marked with month & store.
We now have a little store where we sell at half price items that the family can't use, neighbours & friends ask what we have before doing normal
shopping.
The things we compers do
"My spirit is free. But I'll always be near. As long as I'm alive in your heart " That you will be my caring sons .
MY LOTTO MOTTO ~ We are here to help each other , have fun & hopefully win a few prizes along the way .~
I'm unsure of my mood right now!
“Perhaps it is good to have a beautiful mind, but an even greater gift is to discover a beautiful heart.”
"Set an intention...make space...surrender the outcome...and open your arms to receive."
Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
Fear is False Evidence About Reality
Some people dream about WINNING while others wake up and WORK HARD at it!
If you can't find a partner, find a wooden
chair!? RIP Duane

The only thing I bought was a bottle of transmission fluid for a comp for a car.
The bottle is still sitting in the garage. |

If you don't have friends who want the spare stuff you have bought why not give it to charity they are making food parcels all the time and also the
RSPCA are always needing pet food- our IGA has a box where they collect. Charities put laundry powder, nappies and baby food in their grocery
parcels. |

I'll be buying Pepsi Max (when it's on special) and unfortunately having to contribute it to the oceans because you have to open the top to get the
code and Pepsi Max is vile to drink (containing aspartame as well). |

I'm only buying the Pepsi Max because the prizes are so great and I will probably only buy one or two bottles - just to be able to at least have a
chance or two of winning. |

so could never pour something down the sink or throw it away for no reason! |

I very rarely enter "Purchase Req" comps, but I finally have!
The Banjos Bakehouse in Geelong is running a comp to win a Christmas hamper if you buy six fruit tarts. I hate fruit tarts so I thought I wouldnt get
to enter, but the other day I bought six and gave them out to the buskers nearby so I could enter! I am hoping the act of good karma might bring me
some luck too. |

I used to buy lots of products for the barcodes to send off for competitions, but now you only have to keep your receipt to prove you've actually
bought the product, and yes I buy LOTS of stuff just for the competition entry. Must say, though that we usually do get through most of it or palm a
lot off to family members. I bought 47 jars of Blue Dragon stir-fry sauce to try to win a trip to China, and did actually win LOTS of pairs of
chopsticks, and a chopping board, for which I have to prove that I had really bought all 47 jars by sending copies of all the receipts!!! By the way,
I'd not previously heard of Blue Dragon and had trouble finding their sauces (top shelf at Woolies), but now they are a firm family favourite. |

This is really interesting to read! I am currently creating an app where you scan product barcodes that are running purchase competitions and it takes
you straight to the entry page, you can then fill out the competition page with 1 tap of a button.
I didn't relise the power that these types of competitions - if people are buying products they don't even need it wonder if those brands would see
that as a positive thing? A sale is a sale right? But then I doubt you would be a returning customer.
Has anyone ever bought a product that they didn't want / need in order to enter a competition and then ended up purchasing that product after the
competition has ended? I would be really interested in hearing any stories like that.
This is my first post - thanks guys! |

About 17 years ago when I just started back at comping I bought an Ambi Pur product which cost about $10. I looked at the comp for a few weeks before
deciding to buy it as there were 2 prizes, a cruise and I think about $500.00. I eventually decided to buy it as I had 2 chances. Well, I won the
cruise! This got me back into serious comping and I continued to buy Ambi Pur.
Now I rarely buy anything I don't use, except that I did buy some dog food for the chance to win a motor vehicle. I gave the dog food to my son as he
has a dog. Around Christmas time I'll buy soft drink as I think visitors may drink it. It's getting harder to palm off food now as my children have
all left home and my grandson who used to stay with us on weekends used to eat my comping junk food. |

Earlier this year I bought a Husqvarna leaf blower (at a cost of $280) just to enter their comp for a trip to the Chelsea flower show in London. Well
I went in to this particular store aiming to get a Husqvarna mower, knowing that my son needed one, but they were out of stock, so I bought the
cheapest Husqvarna product they had - the leaf blower. Weeks later son tells me he already has one of those, so checking again that the store now had
mowers in stock I took it in to exchange and pay the EXTRA $300 to get the Husqvarna mower.
It had been sitting in my spare room all that time - untouched, unused and exactly as they had sold it to me. They refused to do it. The arrogant
young sod at the counter virtually sniffed at me, saying "We're not in the business of selling second-hand stock".
So now I have a $280 brand new Husqvarna leaf blower just sitting there taking up room. |

Prize wins 2011: $13000
previous years about $25000
The harder you work the luckier you get

Only today I donated a big bag of non perishable food items to a worthy cause. It felt nearly as good as winning a prize. All products were bought for
comps so happy to give back. |
